Pastor Mary L.Beets  As a child she lived on a plantation with her mother and sister, where they worked in exchange for food and shelter. Determined to make a better life for her family, Pastor Mary L. Beets’ mother worked hard to obtain independence, This led to her relocating and starting her own café. As a young adult, Pastor Beets would later display the same leadership abilities as her mother.
Pastor Beets’ ministry started many years ago as a youth leader in Milan, Tennessee. She joined Holy Temple COGIC in Milan, and was given the opportunity to oversee the music department. She coordinated one of the largest, youth choirs in town. She was faithful and committed until she moved to another state.
After moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in the early 1970’s she joined New Jerusalem COGIC where she began directing the music department. Again, she formed one of the largest youth choirs in town. Several years later, she was appointed Minister of Music at Gospel Tabernacle Church, founded by her late husband, Bishop Paul Beets. and formed a third successful youth choir.
For almost 30 years, Pastor Beets has actively labored as a religious leader in her community. As Pastor of Gospel Tabernacle Church, she ministers to the youth, elderly, married couples, singles and those in prison. Although her beloved husband Bishop Paul V. Beets has recently passed she has continued to minister and serve. She is a seasoned speaker an anointed exhorter, who expounds the Word of God with experience, conviction and love.
